Adjacent to Nizuc is Sunrise which shares all restaurants, bars, pools and amenities. Sunrise has more rooms and is an overall bigger property but other than that the rooms, restaurants and other public spaces are just as well appointed and luxurious as at Nizuc.
For restaurants Sunrise offers Agra-Indian, Momo, a teppanyaki and sushi eatery, La Gondola-Italian cuisine, Riviera Maya-Yucatan food, and Smoked-Texas barbecue. Cafe Bistro is your coffee, ice cream, gelato, sandwich, sweet treat, creperie and pastry shop open 24 hours! The length Palace goes to offer authentic dining experiences is truly impressive. For Agra, the executive chef is from India, they imported a Tandoor oven, and all the decor and place settings are designed to create an authentic Indian atmosphere. The food, service and experience were all truly memorable.
La Gondola has an expansive breakfast buffet with lots of choices of prepared foods and fresh made to order options such as eggs, omelets, and crepes. Dinner is served from an a la carte menu with plenty of Italian options and delicious pasta creations and of course appetizers, soups, salads, desserts and drinks to compliment the meal. Riviera Maya, located at the golf course, serves up Yucatan cuisine which is so authentic considering the location. Reservations are required and they are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for dinner. La Trattoria is also located at the golf course and is another Italian restaurant with a sophisticated atmosphere serving dinner Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Reservations are required to ensure all diners can be accommodated with no waiting and appropriate distancing. Smoked offers Texas BBQ daily from 12-5 out by the pool; the aroma of the meat smoking draws you in if you are even the slightest bit hungry. Also out by the pool is Palapa Asadero serving serving a casual buffet lunch and a dinner menu featuring 8 different cuts of steak with sides and a variety of sauce choices. I didn’t stay long enough to eat at all the restaurants but those I had the opportunity to sample were nothing short of excellent! And of course, room service is always an option if you don’t want to go out!!

All activities are reciprocal or shared with Nizuc-bikes, miniature golf, water sports, basketball, pickleball, tennis, pools, and kids activities. Sunrise has its own fitness center, salon and spa. Wired is available for family fun activities or a place for the kids to go and hang out on their own.
As I said before, the rooms are the same at Sunrise as at Nizuc. The balconies all have hammocks but that is the only difference-marble floors, Chi bath amenities, comfortable bed, plush towels, simple tasteful decor, premium alcohol, stocked refrigerator, beautiful views all create a luxury escape for your vacation.
