Moon Palace Cancun-Nizuc

Moon Palace Nizuc, a family friendly all-inclusive resort, is set between Moon Palace Sunrise and The Grand at Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico. If you stay at Nizuc you have full access to everything Sunrise has to offer-pools, bars, restaurants, beach, lounges, fitness center, nightclub and entertainment-essentially doubling your options. As you arrive at Nizuc your bags are tagged and set aside, you are offered a cool washcloth to freshen up before you enter the spacious lobby to check in and enjoy a refreshing beverage. After a quick and easy check in you can either visit the concierge to get information or head straight to your room escorted by a bellman with your bags.

The rooms are well appointed and Palace keeps it simple-Superior Deluxe Garden View and Superior Deluxe Ocean View. My garden view still had a great view of the water but since it is not directly on the beach they categorize it as garden view(see the last picture for my garden view from my balcony). The rooms come with either a king or two doubles and connecting rooms create the Family Deluxe category. Children 17 and under stay for free-Yay! Minibar in the kids’ room offers chocolate milkshakes, juice, soda, bottled water and kid-friendly snacks. Also, L’Oreal bath amenities are supplied for the young ones! Palace thinks of everything for their young guests including a step stool for the sink and child sized robes and slippers! There is also a Honeymoon Suite which is the same room but with added amenities for the honeymooners. The Governor’s Suite and Presidential Suite also boast more space and upgraded amenities.

The food choices are all excellent; each restaurant is independent and has it’s own executive chef, menu, decor and curated cocktails. All the food at the resorts are prepared on property fresh daily! For breakfast you can choose between room service, El Manglar (buffet), Los Caporales (ala carte) and Sweet & Coffee (made to order crepes, pastries and other yummy treats). Lunch options are expanded to include room service, El Manglar, La Burgueria, Palapa Delfines, Palapa Pelicanos and of course Sweet & Coffee (sandwiches and paninis made fresh). Dinner is wonderful no matter where you find yourself-El Manglar (buffet), Los Caporales (Mexican), Arrecifes (Brazilian Steak House), in your suite with room service or Sweet & Coffee. Dessert is always served at Sweet & Coffee with truffles, cakes, pastries, ice cream and other sweet treats! Did I mention the 24 hour room service?

The bars open at different times and there is always somewhere to get a drink even if it’s just in your suite! The lobby bar is fantastic, The Pub is just that and the pool bars have everything you could possibly want! Each restaurant has cocktails designed specifically to pair with the cuisine offered and of course you can order any cocktail you want along with beer or wine to accompany your meal. There are plenty of non-alcoholic options available for the younger guests from tea, juices, smoothies and sodas to mocktails.

The activity options are varied with something for everyone. Inside you have Wired which is the kids lounge that welcomes all family members to play games together-air hockey, foos ball, ping pong, arcade and video games. There is also a place to watch your favorite team play so you don’t miss anything while you’re on vacation. Outside there are amazing pools, water slide, flow rider, splash area for the young ones, and swim up bars. The white sandy beach invites you to enjoy the surf on a paddle board or catamaran, play sand soccer or just lounge and listen to the waves lap gently. There are facilities for pickle ball, tennis, and basketball. Also you can play 18 holes of mini golf or borrow a bike to ride around the resorts. There are also 27 holes of golf to play right on the property. If you book a golf villa you have your own cart for the duration of your stay! At night there are multiple shows to watch. 

Their fitness center is moderate in size but has absolutely everything you could need for a great workout-free weights, machines, cardio machines, steps, jump ropes, exercise balls, mats for stretching, and wifi so you can stream your favorite workout video. There are also group classes in which you can participate. After a workout you can relax and wind down in the sauna or steam room and then shower off and leave refreshed. Across the hall is a salon and spa-the Awe Spa-which offers treatments, styling and services which you would expect at a resort like this.

The grounds are beautifully manicured and Palace pays attention to the little details. The landscaping is lush and beautiful, the lighting at night is subtle yet sufficient, the flow from one area to the next is smooth. Even the music that is played indoors and outside is designed to elevate your experience.

Last but definitely not least is the staff! From the moment you step on the property you are warmly welcomed and made to feel like you belong at Palace. The bellman who takes care of you suitcases, the desk clerk who checks you in, the concierge who wants to make sure everything is in order, the housekeepers who keep your room clean and well supplied, the gentleman who keeps your in-room bar stocked and brings you snacks daily, the bartenders, the hosts and hostesses and the waiters-all want to make sure you have the best vacation ever!
