One Last Glance at El Mangroove

A few final thoughts, experiences and pictures

While our stay at El Mangroove was only three nights the experience was full and fulfilling. We ate, drank, rested, relaxed and returned home restored. Traveling out of the country during the Covid-19 era was smooth, easy and non-stressful for us; we always felt like our health and the health and well being of all those around us was of paramount concern. At this time there was no testing required to enter Costa Rica or reenter the United States. I will say upon returning home we both got tested for Covid-19 and were negative-YAY!

El Mangroove has a sustainability program which promotes reforestation called Leave Your Leaves. For a small fee you pot a tree that will stay on the property for a short time and then be transplanted to a place where it is needed. Once the tree is planted you are notified of its exact location. We both planted trees and love the idea that we are making a positive lasting environmental and economic impact on the place we vacationed.

Another program that El Mangroove has on property is their childcare facility appropriately named Guppies. The building has four rooms and an all glass exterior so you get the feeling of an aquarium which literally promotes transparency for the childcare program. The facility has all the basic necessities including toys, games, arts and crafts supplies, sporting equipment and some audio/visual options. Caregivers are carefully screened and there are plenty of options so adults can get some free time for a massage, dinner, a nap or just quiet time by the pool.

I was wowed by all the lush vegetation both wild and manicured that was all around me during my stay. It made for fun photography and even though I don’t have a professional camera and have never taken a class the place makes it hard to take a bad picture. Here are a few of my favorites!!

There is a quiet, private, out of the way area that is ideal for special occasions whether it be a corporate event, party or wedding. The staff at El Mangroove can transform the space to suit any needs.

I look forward to visiting El Mangroove in the future during a non-Covid-19 era to see the smiling faces of those I met and see the property the way it was originally designed to be without the distancing and to be able to sit at the bar and fully interact with those around me. Besides the discovery of a new destination is the joy of meeting people who live in and visit the location.
